A New Era of China
Today, China is playing an increasingly important part in the word, and has won great respect from other countries by actively taking part in the international affairs. In this new era, China will never stop her way of developing and the world will witness the strength of China in more fields. As a high school student, I should shoulder the responsibility of introducing the new appearance of China to the world.
First of all, China has developed a relatively advanced industrial system and its economy is developing rapidly. Since the beginning of the 21st century, China’s economy has achieved a steady and high-speed growth. The market economic system has been initially established. The market plays a decisive role in the allocation of resources, and the macro-control system provides critical support when it is necessary.
Secondly, China’s agriculture has made enough progress to meet the people’s basic living needs. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, China has made historic achievements in agricultural development that attracted worldwide attention. It not only solved the problem of feeding more than one billion people in China, but also made great contributions to global food security, poverty control and sustainable agricultural development.
China has also made great breakthroughs in scientific and technological development. For example, on October 16, 1964, China successfully exploded its first atomic bomb, becoming the fifth country in the world equipped with nuclear arms. On April 24, 1970, China launched its first man-made earth satellite “Dongfanghong 1”. China’s tremendous achievements in science and technology reflect the continuous development of science and technology.
In this new era, realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is our primary target. Thus, we should remain truly to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind. All Chinese people must unite as one to work hard and I am the very part of the big family!
